Luncheon FAQs

How much does the Mother to Mother Luncheon cost?

There is no charge to attend.

Who may attend the luncheon?

The Autism Mother to Mother Luncheon is for moms, grandmothers, and female primary caregivers of children/adults impacted by autism.

Can you tell me more about how it will work this year with three different sites?

The speaker, Kate Swenson, will be in-person at the Chambersburg site. The program, including Kate’s talk, will be simulcast to the Harrisburg and Lebanon locations. The meal and blessing of the hands will be done at each location independently.

Will there be childcare available at all three locations?

Childcare will be available at the Chambersburg and Harrisburg location only.

Are there assigned seats?

No, seats are not assigned; however there will be four different colors of gift bags that each guest will have to pick from during registration. The dismissal from the sanctuary to the dining room for table selection will be determined by randomly drawing each of the four bag colors out of a hat. The first drawn color will represent the first group to exit the sanctuary to select their seats, and we will continue in this fashion with each color that is randomly drawn. We ask that you do not save seats once in the dining room. If you wish to sit with someone, we encourage you to each select the same color bag, so that you are dismissed from the sanctuary at the same time.

What should I wear?

There is no “dress code” for the event. Some moms like to dress up and some like to come in more casual clothes! It is all up to you!

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Please contact the following site coordinators and they will work with you to be sure your needs are met:

Chambersburg please contact Elyse Fisler (see the contact page)

Harrisburg please contact Caron Drummond at [email protected].

Lebanon please contact Amy Worcester at [email protected].

Why are the doors opening at 8:00 am if the luncheon does not start until 10:30 am?

This year all three locations are making a resource fair available to all the moms. Local autism service providers from the area will be providing information about their services and available resources. The doors will open at 8:00 am so that you may spend time visiting the participants’ tables and learning about what area resources are available for your child/adult and family. There will also be prizes for the moms. This additional time will also allow the moms to view the prizes and participate in trying to win one of the gifts.

Who can I contact for more information?

For the Chambersburg site, please see the contact page.

For the Harrisburg site, please contact Caron Drummond at [email protected]

For the Lebanon site, please contact Amy Worcester at [email protected]
